INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy webpage. Research, innovation and consultancy as well as community engagement are at the heart of our academic life at St John’s University of Tanzania. The rich diversity of our work is reflected across a wide range of disciplines, including education, pharmacy, nursing, business studies, natural and applied sciences, information and communication technology and theology.

Our multidisciplinary approach makes us unique and brings innovative solutions to real problems, and our growing investment in excellence has enhanced the impact of our work and the well-being of society as we seek to achieve our vision: Christian University of Global Standards developing mankind Holistically to Learn to Serve God and Society.

VISION

A strategic partner leading, supporting and coordinating the development and implementation of research and innovation programmes in the natural and applied sciences, social sciences, humanities and theological studies.

 

MISSION

Initiating and supporting transformative research networking through innovative research approaches to St John's academic community and promoting and leading research internationalization for the advancement of knowledge.

GOALS 2018 - 2025

  • Expand research and publications output at St John's University for both academic staff and students.
  • Develop and pursue research niche/focus areas that will be recognized nationally and internationally
  • Build strong and sustainable local and global research partnerships and networks.
  • Provide a thriving and supportive research environment with appropriate management of physical and financial resources.
  • Ensure the proper equipping of a new Graduate Research and Resource Centre upon completion of construction.
  • Support and develop innovative research into commercialization.
  • Ensure that through research, academic staff to play a leading role on community consultancy.
