The standing instructions to students on meals are that, they take all their meals in the University Cafeteria or in the Staff Canteen for those few who feel like eating there. For some reasons ranging from food pricing, quantity and quality, some students prefer taking their meals at (Mama lishe) places. One of the things we have been doing is, to ask the Ward Health Officer to make periodic inspection of food quality at those food service centres as a way of guarding against food contamination, diarrhoea and cholera out-breaks. The Dean of Students office arranges regular meetings with the food service providers in Campus for the purpose of enhancing the proper provision of the service, safe and health food and challenges facing them, in doing this, the office enhances good quality of diet.
