All of the theory courses are on-campus courses, with students commuting to hospitals, Health Centers and community areas within Dodoma Township and its vicinity for clinical experiences. The final year is a year long internship arranged for students to master personal goals in leadership and administrative skills as well as to continue with nursing research.

Master's Program
The Master's Program is open to those with a BScN degree; and will be taught later as a combination of E-Learning and practical application in the hospitals and Health Centers. Preliminary plans will give priority to Master's in Nursing Education followed by Master's in Community Health and Master's in Nursing Administration and Management. Plans are being made to offer Master's degrees individually designed for the needs of nurses in Tanzania.

Continuous Learning
There are demands for a number of short courses known as certificate courses.  Nurses working at the point of care are asking for specialized information, and St. John’s University will work towards facilitating these needs. In addition, nursing in Tanzania is moving towards requiring continuing nursing credits for graduate nurses.  This program will fulfill that need within the E-Learning program.

E-Learning
The E-learning Program is designed to facilitate learning of nurses throughout Tanzania. Plans are to start with the Continuous Learning courses, and then move to allowing E-Learning in the Baccalaureate and Master’s Programs
